  7.      This document explains the items listed below. The driver should be used
  8.      only after this document has been read.

  15. <File composition>
  16.      The following files are contained in the directory WINNT40.
  17.        FJDLNT40.DLL  Fujitsu DL printer driver module.
  18.        OEMSETUP.INF  Information file used for installing printer driver.
  19.        README.TXT    Contains explanation and points to note for printer
  20.                      driver.

  23. <Install Guide>
  24.      The Fujitsu DL6400 and DL6600, DL3700 and DL3800, DL9300 and DL9400 
  25.      printer driver can be installed by described below:
  26.  
  27.      Set-up from Printers folder.
  28.  
  29.        (a)Click the Start button, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
  30.  
  31.        (b)Double-click Add Printer.
  32.  
  33.        (c)The Add Printer Wizard appears. Click "Next>".
  34.  
  35.        (d)Click "Have Disk" from the next dialog and the "Install from disk"
  36.           dialog box is displayed prompting the user to select the drive and
  37.           directory containing the installation disk.
  38.  
  39.        (e)Insert the Fujitsu Printer driver installation disk into the A: drive,
  40.           use the "Browse" button to select sub-directory WINNT40 of drive A:
  41.           and click the "OK" push-button.
  42.  
  43.        (f)A dialog box appears displaying the model-names "Fujitsu DL6400" and
  44.           "Fujitsu DL6600". Select model of choice and click "Next>" to
  45.           continue.
  46.       Select the DL6400 or DL6600 driver also for the Fujitsu DL3700, 
  47.           DL3800, DL9300, DL9400.

  50.     (g)A list of available Ports appears. Select an appropriate Port and
  51.           click "Next>".

  53.        (h)A dialog appears prompting the user to type the Printer name. Type
  54.           an appropriate name or use the one supplied and click "Next>".

  56.        (i)The next dialog prompts the user to print a test page. Select "Yes"
  57.           or "No" and click "Finish".
  58.  
  59.        (j)Driver files are copied from the installation disk.
  60.           N.B. The following files are not contained on the Printer
  61.           installation disk and should be installed from the appropriate
  62.           Windows set-up disk, if not already contained in the Windows system
  63.           sub-directory:
  64.            RASDD..DLL, RASDDUI.DLL.

  66.        (k)When all files have been copied and the driver is installed a dialog
  67.           appears querying the result of test page printout. Depending on
  68.           whether the test page was printed correctly or not click "Yes" or
  69.           "No".

  71.        The Fujitsu DL-series Windows NT4.0 printer driver is now installed.

  74. <Points to Note>
  75.       (1)The DL-printers' serial ports only support baud rates
  76.          of 150, 300, 600, 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600 or 19200. Other baud rates
  77.          should not be selected in the driver when using the serial port.
  78.          Furthermore, only 7 or 8 Data bits and 1 or 2 Stop bits are supported.

  80.       (2)When [Manual feed] is specified as the Paper Source, a message box
  81.          is  displayed  with  the instruction "Please insert paper" for each
  82.          page printed.
  83.          Insert paper and click the [OK] button to continue printing.

  85.          N.B.
  86.           In the case of some applications, the "Please insert paper" message
  87.           is missing from the message-box. In this case, please insert paper
  88.           and click the [OK] button to continue printing.
